Title: Have supports for Plugins Post by: farqis on September 21, 2006, 09:37:23 AM Hi,
My suggestion is that even if opensource is not possible as suggested in another thread, the author of the software can add support for plugins so that for support of any new Game or newer version of an already supported game, all one needs to do is to create a plugin and put it in the plugins folder under the installation folder and the plugin should work. The plugin architecture could be XML based description of network packets or dll files. This way the updating process would be very rapid and the main software would still be required in any case so no harm to the original author either. I would go with XML based plugins because if one author writes them and posts them on this website, others can improve it to make it efficient or remove bugs that the original author didn't see. So the software we end up with will be excellent. Ofcourse the authors of aGSM can continue to add support for new games too. So there would be official and unofficially supported games. I think you get the idea. Farqaleet
