Title: aGSM as a service under server 2003
Post by: unavailable on June 07, 2005, 08:40:46 AM
I'd like to suggest to make aGSM able to run as a service under server 2003.

what for?
I have a home LAN with over 50 workstations and aGSM is running on server, but I forced to use additional software to run it as a service (because aGSM quits after log off on server). May be I don't know enough about server capabilities to force aGSM run as a service without any changing aGSM itself, but it would be very nice if aGSM have option something like "run as service". I read somewhere that it is possible to run any application as a service under server 2003, but it seemed to be very complicated, meanwhile having such option inside Your software would solve this problem elagantly.

Thank you.

yes, that makes sense. we have a commandline version which probably fit running as service nicely (it does not produce any graphical output); should be easy to do.
